Q: Mr. Fixit
PAX: Buick, Mr. Fixit
FNGs: None
COUNT: 250+
INTRODUCTION:
White Walker(my brother) told us to get there a little early due to parking and chaos so we rolled up about 5:30 for the 6AM beatdown. The 1st 2 people we met in the parking lot were fixing to get started with some warmup burpees and asked if we wanted to join. I contemplated it for a second while noticing Buick slowly walking away so we politely declined and kept moving towards the park where the convergence would take place. As men began to gather and flags began to be planted 6 men walked to the center of the massive circle to say they would be our Q’s for the morning and we could choose any which one to go with. Right or wrong I don’t know but we followed White Walkers lead to hook up with our Q for the hour named Caddie and man did we pay for that.
WARMUP:
A few SSH, Merkins, and Squats and we were off
THE THANG:
I really wish I could remember everything we did this morning but I can tell you this. Caddie’s Q was one of the most inspiring, eye opening, and motivational Q’s I’ve ever been a part of. I’m almost tempted to say it was the hardest beatdown I’ve ever been a part of. He led from the front the whole time and never stopped moving for an hour straight. There were sprints, bear crawls, crab walks, merkins, burpees, nasty hills, and so much more.
And when we got done with an hour long beatdown that I won’t ever forget and a COT where a new nantan was issued in, we had 15 minutes to grab a sip of water, get our number tags pinned to our shirts, and get to the start line of the 5k. I was so spent before the 5K even started that I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. Not to mention everything I was wearing including shoes and socks were soaking wet. But nonetheless we got on the line and took off. It was the most I’ve struggled on a run in a long time but we finished and survived. Time was not important in this race but more so just overcoming the mental battle and pure exhaustion to get it done. And we did.
Not surprisingly when I got done running I figured Buick was probably a ways back puking in the bushes so I turned back to track him down. Turns out he wasn’t too terribly far back running along side Chewbacca(May the 4th be with you).
