INTRODUCTION: 5CP, Mission Statement, Credo, disclaimer.
WARMUP: Even without Mr. Fixit there, started with side straddle hops, some burpees, arm circles f/b, bear hugs, Willie Mays Hays.
Buy-in: 50 hand release merkins on the wet concrete. Good. Pax completed with ease. Thanks to Skidder for the idea!
THE THANG: Gateway Games
Pax split into two teams of 5 each where we competed for the ultimate prize (free coffee). Did a series of relay races followed by a group exercise. First team to finish earned a point.
Round 1: Sprint down and back, tag teammate, repeat. once last teammate gets back, team does 5 burpees together. Team 2 got the victory
Round 2: Bonnie Blair down and back, last teammate gets back 5 burpees as team. Team 1 won this round. (1-1)
Round 3: Bear Crawl down, once get to end line yell “go” to let teammate know to start. Plank hold until last teammate crosses finish line. If anyone breaks plank until team is complete, that team is DQ’d. Team 2 won (1-2)
Round 4: Burpee Broad jump down, yell “go” to signify teammate to start. 5 burpees as team when last teammate finishes. Team 1 won (2-2).
Round 5: Lunge walk down and back followed by 20 air squats as a team. Team 1 won (3-2)
Round 6: Final relay race, a longer distances sprint down and back. By this point the Pax is feeling very competitive. Can Team 1 hold off Team 2 or Does Team 2 have it in them to force OT. This race came down to the wire as Red sauce and Goose were the last legs. Red Sauce had the lead, but Goose gave it everything he had to try and hawk him down. Red sauce held him off just barely to secure Team 1 the victory! (4-2).
Pax did incredible job cheering on teammates and going all out for their teams. Glad we could spark a little competitive fire on a Thursday Morning!
