Just as dawn was breaking on a cold January morning a PAX of 12 gathered at Red Dawn. YHC meant business and flew through a disclaimer, 5 core, mission and credo; this Saturday was a workday.

Before the real work began, a necessary warmup was executed: SSH, Willie Mays, quad stretch, arm circles and bear hugs.

PAX moseyed from the parking lot to the lower practice field where the temperature felt like it dropped another 5 degrees. Everyone grabbed a coupon and numbered off one through four for ‘Four Corners of the Earth’. 45 seconds worth of work at a corner and then a rotation to the next.

Corner 1 – Man makers
Corner 2 – Curls
Corner 3 – Binoculars
Corner 4 – Thrusters

PAX made it 1.75 rotations around the earth, missing the final .25 due to a mental mistake by YHC.

It was then time for ‘the Manny Pacquiao’. A line was formed, coupons in tow, and YHC wiped out a Boxbollen(I.e. ball on an elastic string attached to a headband).

The Manny Pacquiao consists of one man attaching the Boxbollen to his head, declaring an exercise, and counting his hits on the ball while the rest of the PAX ran 15 yards, touched the line and ran back to the starting line (30 yards total). The number of hits on the Boxbollen was the number of reps the entire PAX was responsible for completing. Each PAX completed one round on the BoxBollen.

This Saturday was extra special; not only was it a workday, it was also our brother Turnbuckle’s wedding day.

For the final exercise, YHC borrowed a valuable lesson in maintaining a happy home from FreeBird and introduced the ‘Yes Dear Indian Run’. An Indian Run with a twist.. the twist being that the man at the front called out an exercise for the man at the back to complete before running to the front. The man at the back then competes said exercise and practices responding to him M in the proper respectful manner. Not by saying “what”, but instead with a joyful, “Yes Dear.”

Laughs were had and OneHit ensured the PAX got the most out of the YDIR by setting a blazing pace.

By the time Mary showed up the PAX resembled Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone park due to the amount of steam rising off each man. She consisted of non-stop core work until 7am sharp.

The COT was made up off an expression of gratitude by each HIM.

The day ended with a prayer and pledge of allegiance.
